1. Who we are

Heat Geek B.V. (KvK 42099983, BTW 869722645B01), Lange Viestraat 2B, 3511 BK Utrecht, the Netherlands, is the data controller for this website.

We process personal data in line with the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) as applied in Ireland by the Data Protection Act 2018. Questions, or to exercise any right below: hello@heatgeek.com.

2. What we collect, and why

Only what you type in. There are two forms on this site and nothing else collects personal data.

Registering your interest as a homeowner

  • Your name, email address and — if you give it — phone number.
  • Your county and Eircode, and whatever you tell us about the house: property type, roughly when it was built, floor area, bedrooms, BER rating and current heating.
  • Anything you write in the free-text box.

We use it to contact you when there is a certified Heat Geek installer taking work near you, and — in aggregate — to decide which counties to train installers in next. Legal basis: consent, which you give by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time.

Newsletter signup

  • Your email address, and whether you are a homeowner, an installer, or both.

Used to send updates about the Ireland launch and guides on heat pumps. Legal basis: consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.

3. Website measurement

We count page views and Eircode lookups so we know which pages are read and where interest is coming from. It is deliberately anonymous: we record the page address and the time, and nothing else — no cookie, no IP address, no identifier, nothing linking one visit to another. It is not personal data, so it is not covered by the rights below. See the cookie policy.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertising networks. It is handled by:

  • Google Cloud — hosting and the database. Our processor.
  • Heat Geek certified installers — if and when we put you in touch with one, and only then. We will not pass your details to an installer without telling you.

Your data is stored in europe-west2 (London, United Kingdom). The UK is covered by a European Commission adequacy decision, so no additional transfer safeguards are required.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your registration for 2 years from our last contact with you, then delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner we will. Newsletter signups are kept until you unsubscribe.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete it;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • send it to you or another provider in a portable format;
  • and to withdraw consent, which stops any further use.

Email hello@heatgeek.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's supervisory authority.

7. Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

8. Changes

If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes affecting people who have already registered will be emailed.
